Electric Car: Australian readiness

I just came back from Australia for family holidays. Of course I did enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Australia, plus the penguins and kangaroos. Despite that, I observed that there are some kind of automotive trends which is   exclusive for Australia such as:
1. More than half of the car are equipped with carrier/caravan joint.
Possible reason: They have lots of agriculture lands that require them to transport agriculture tools with them. AND they might travel a lot to the canyon which they must use caravan because there are no hotels/motels there.
2. Most of the vehicle are sedan type.
Possible reason: They don't need MPV because they have carrier! AND Sedan is the safest choice.

Most of the car are Australian company Holden (owned by GM, manufacturing in Australia) and American company Ford (owned by American, manufacturing worldwide).

Australian just started testing electric facilities from Better Place in Sydney. The government is committed to the EV facilities development throughout the country, BUT weirdly the local automakers  (Holden) is not in the competition to build an electric car locally yet. In order to make EV eco-system a successful project, it require local automaker support and local facilities developer! But, it is not running equally in Australia.
